Roger stronger than Stan

02.07.2014 | Tennis, Starseite 1

Roger has made it through to the semis in Wimbledon thanks to a 3-6, 7-6(5), 6-4, 6-4 win over fellow Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka. It is Roger's ninth Wimbledon semi-final - he hasn't lost a single one of them in his career.

"I don't want to get too far ahead of myself, but I'm back strong this year," said Federer. "Last year was such a disappointment. I always try to win it and last year I didn't even come close. I was very deflated leaving on that note. It's good to be back in the semis, the prospect of going a step or two further is very exciting," Roger said.

Today, Stan Wawrinka started very strong and Roger fell back an early break which he could not recover from. In the second set, the players both held serve and Roger edged a win in the tie-break. In the third set, Roger finally converted the first of six break points to take a 4-3 lead and then the set. Another early break in the fourth put Roger on course for the semis, before he converted his fifth match point after 2:32 hours.

Roger will meet either Canada's Milos Raonic (ATP 9) or Australia's Nick Kyrgios (ATP 144).

I just came home and they were in the middle of the second set.
But I was following the live scores.
Is it me or has Roger been returning really well? Raonic was serving reaally fast and Roger was returning them easily

I can't believe we're so close to seeing Roger in another GS final.

And his chances of winning it are not lower than Djoker's.

If Roger defeats Raonic in straight sets (looks like it), he'll be pumped to fight Djokovic on Sunday
