Fair-play Roger

09.06.2007 | Off Court

Roger was given the "Prix Orange" at the French Open this week, honoured for exhibiting fair play and being a good sport. It is already the third consecutive year for him to receive the award.

Novak Djokovic of Serbia, a 20-year-old who played Rafael Nadal in the semi-finals yesterday, won the "Prix Bourgeon" as the "revelation of the year," while Paul-Henri Mathieu of France was given the "Prix Citron" as "the personality that stands out ... the player with the most zest."

Roger: If you need room to place your trophies I have an empty mantel in my house. Just kidding I don't even have a chimney. I saw you win the Laureus award in Spain. Congratulations and Keep the Smile and the Hard Work Ethic. Lots of Love.

Congratulations on this award. Hope it will make up to some measure for not winning today. At the end of the day it is your personality that really matters, not the number of titles.

Onwards and upwards now, champ, and hope you will quickly bounce ba

Congratulations, Roger! Small consolation for the loss, but it's always wonderful to hear other people appreciate the grace and class you exhibit every match.

God bless you,
