Roger eases through

Roger made a successful start to his bid for a fifth straight Wimbledon title today. He cruised through the match against Russia's Gabashvili to take a 6-3 6-2 6-4 victory in just 92 minutes.


The start of Roger's favourite tournament, Wimbledon, had to be delayed slightly as the weather was rather cool and wet today. Roger appeared on Centre Court in style wearing a white jacket with gold crest on the breast pocket and retro long white trousers.

Our star was never troubled by the 85th-ranked Gabashvili, who was making his Wimbledon debut and had won only one previous grass-court match. Roger finished with 33 winners and 13 unforced errors. He broke the Russian four times and saved the only break point against him. Lynette, Roger's mother, sat in the Royal Box, while Mirka was joined by Italian motorcycling star Valentino Rossi in his supporters' section.

I have just been on wimbledon's site they are doing this thing that you can buy centre court tickets that go on sale everynight from them for the next day's play the seats are right up the top where they have put more seats in to make room for the

Keeep the composure and beat that 18 year old kid. Warm up before you even come to the court and get the job done because you have to play on friday too. Try to stay cool and composed and get the job done.

Oh sorry forgot to say i don't know if anyone has noticed but the red circle's on roger's trainers are the years he has won they have the numbers in them 03, 04 , 05, 06. at first you only see the red but look closer you will see it.

Rogers game against Del Porto has been suspended to next day (Thursday) because of rain. He is leading 6-2, 7-5, 2-0. Hopefully he can finish this one quick & start focusing on the next game (most possibly against Safin). That should be a more challenging
