Roger put on an amazing showing against and Juan Carlos Ferrero in difficult conditions on centre court this afternoon before our world no.1 emerged victorious 7-6 (7-2) 3-6 6-1 6-3.

Roger’s comment: "It was really, really tough conditions, very gusty wind, so I'm happy to come through it. OK, a set is lost but the match isn't lost. I'm happy with my game, it's my first match of the second week and we'll see what happens. The pressure is always the same as defending champion at Wimbledon."

After play having been suspended on Friday due to rain, Roger resumed serving at a tricky 5-5, 40-40 but came through the game and raced through the resulting tie breaker 7-2 to take the first set. Ferrero fought back, however, and broke Roger in the seventh game of the second to shock the crowd and the top seed 6-3.

Thoughts of an upset did not last long, though, as Roger stepped it up and lost just four more games en route to a semi-final showdown with Andy Roddick or Richard Gasquet.

Who says Roger will play Nadal in the finals? He did not do too well at Halle remember him loosing against the world's no 108 ranking palyer, niether did he do too well against Soderling. I do not think that Djokovic will be quite as star stuck as Berdy

well done roger, i had no doubts that u would beat ferrero who was a good challenge, now focus on gasquet, who i'm surprised to see in the semis, i was so hoping for another roddick encounter so that you could smash him into pieces again, the aus open sem

Hy Roger. I want to let you a message yesterday but i haven't time. OK it was a great match, you missed a set but you win the match. The only problem is to not lose another set. Good Luck in the match with Gasqet and be carefuly.

to lovely,
i guess you brought up a good point by saying that roger should watch out for gasquets backhand.roger does have a great backhand but he is looking uncomfortable against the high balls,it would be more difficult if he is coming up

well done roger,but its a great concern to me that you are looking quite uncomfortable with the high balls on your backhand.that could be a big problem against rafa,provided he gets to the final.but all th best.
