A third Laureus title?
Roger is up for a third Laureus World Sportsman of the Year Award in April.
He could become the first athlete to win the Laureus Award for a third time after having taken home the title the last two years. The winners of this years awards will be announced at the eighth edition of the annual event at a televised ceremony in Barcelona on April 2.
1068 journalists from 128 countries chose the nominees in the seven categories. Next to Roger Fernando Alonso (ESP), seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher (GER), 100-m-world record holder Asafa Powell (JAM), golfer Tiger Woods (USA) and Italy's soccer world champion Fabio Cannavaro can hope for the prestigious trophy. The winners will be chosen by the members of the 43-strong Laureus World Sports Academy.
