Perfect US Open start
28.08.2007 | Tennis
Roger began his quest for a fourth straight U.S. Open title with an easy straight-set win yesterday. Our star posted a 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 victory over American qualifier Scoville Jenkins (ATP 319). He needed just 92 minutes and faced only two break points - saving both - against his powerful serve.
"I thought it was a good match, tough match," said Federer. "I didn't allow my opponent many chances on my serve. I was serving well. Unfortunately for him he double faulted quite a bit on breakpoints, which obviously helped. It was a good opening match for me."
The second round opponent for our number one is another qualifier, Paul Capdeville. The Chilean outlasted Germany's Rainer Schuettler 5-7, 6-3, 6-7(4), 6-4, 6-3.

Congrats on winning the first round match at the US Open! I saw the match, and I thought your game is looking really good! Serving is great, so keep that up! Very Sampras-like to erase the breakpoint with an ace...:)
Good luck next round aga
It seems to be easy for you in the beginning when you are up against qualifiers, but it does get more difficult the closer you get to the trophy. All I can say is stay grounded, work the net, and throw those aces. You can do it babe!! Just kn
