Back in action - and winning
Roger claimed a swift victory over Robby Ginepri 7-6(2), 6-4 in his first match of the Madrid Masters 2007.
"I took a rest so I could be 100 percent here, and now I'm fresh and eager to play here again," he said before the match. After a fairly long break since his fourth US Open title in September, Roger showed a few weaknesses in his game, but remained a long way ahead of his 72-ranked rival. "I was struggling in the beginning a little bit, but I served well to get out of trouble. I'm happy I won this first match, for me it was a big win today." Roger had to play two tiebreakers against Ginepri in the seventh game of the first set, but thanks to an ace and a service point he dominated the situation. In the second set, our star breezily went 4-2 ahead and served 10 aces after breaking the American's service in the eighth game.
Roger will next play the winner between Argentina's Agustin Calleri and Guillermo Canas on Wednesday.

Allez Roger!!!
Hugs,
Marlene
Good luck for the quarters!

I have missed you, Emperor!
You've played an excelent match.
I hope you can defend the championship!
Good Luck!

I hope you can have a chance to revenge against Canas in second round.
Go Roger!!!
It's funny how a couple of lucky matches by Canas played mainly on tiebreakers start making the press wisper silly comments. And all of a sudden, you take Wimbledon, the US Open, and win this match with a 6-0 in the first
