Back in action - and winning
Roger claimed a swift victory over Robby Ginepri 7-6(2), 6-4 in his first match of the Madrid Masters 2007.
"I took a rest so I could be 100 percent here, and now I'm fresh and eager to play here again," he said before the match. After a fairly long break since his fourth US Open title in September, Roger showed a few weaknesses in his game, but remained a long way ahead of his 72-ranked rival. "I was struggling in the beginning a little bit, but I served well to get out of trouble. I'm happy I won this first match, for me it was a big win today." Roger had to play two tiebreakers against Ginepri in the seventh game of the first set, but thanks to an ace and a service point he dominated the situation. In the second set, our star breezily went 4-2 ahead and served 10 aces after breaking the American's service in the eighth game.
Roger will next play the winner between Argentina's Agustin Calleri and Guillermo Canas on Wednesday.

6-0, 6-3 and what statistics!
Congratulations and keep it up.

you are the best
keep going.............
I LOVE YOU
I think this time you know how to TAME a tough and tricky opponent as CANAS. The 2 defeats will improve your GUTS/tactic/mental/game plan. We used to learn more in failure than in victory. This is continuous improvement or the philosophy KA
Missed you Roger!
Congratulations on this win - best of luck with Canas :-)
Love forever,
Daley xxx
