Roger through to last eight
19.10.2007 | Tennis
Roger marched into the quarter-finals of the Madrid Masters with a comprehensive victory over Guillermo Cañas.
As defending champion and top seed in the Spanish capital, Roger only needed 53 minutes to see off his Argentinian opponent 6-0 6-3. He was simply in a different class to Caas, especially in the first set which the world number one stormed through in double-quick time.
Cañas, the 13th seed, put up a better fight in the second set but was still no match for Roger, who will now meet either Feliciano Lopez or Stefan Koubek for a place in the semi-finals.

It's great that you have beaten canas and in a true Roger federer style.Keep going and wish to see you get crowned as Champion at Roland Garros which will be another feather added to your cap
