Roger moves on

Roger needed just 47 minutes to reach the fourth round of the Miami Masters on Monday as Swede Robin Soderling retired with illness. Our champion advanced 6-4, 3-0. Roger is now 5-0 lifetime against Soderling.

 

"I think it was good for me to go out there and play today," Roger told reporters. "Apparently it was a fever. There was no point in his continuing and risking his health,"

"I hope I can make it step by step and once you make it to the quarter-finals or semi-finals you start thinking about winning the title."

Roger's fourth-round opponent will be Argentine José Acasuso, a 6-4, 6-4 winner against Israeli Dudi Sela.

Well done, Roger in dismantling Soderling even when he retired. Good luck for today's match. Stay focused and fight for every point. The trophy beckons. Happy birthday to Mirka. Thanks for being there for Roger always. I hope Roger gets the best gift for
