Quarter finals in Miami

02.04.2008 | Tennis

Roger went on to reach the quarter finals with a victory over unseeded José Acasuso 7-6(5), 6-2 in the Masters Series tournament in Miami.

"It was key for me to serve well, especially in the beginning, and it was a good serving day today," Roger said. "I was very happy with it." Having lost only 10 points on serve, he will meet Andy Roddick next.

Our 2005 and 2006 Miami-champ made it through to his sixth Miami quarter-final on the back of his impressive service game against the Argentine world number 45. He reached the fourth round there last year, but was upset by Guillermo Cañas.

Dear Roger,

I saw your match against Monfils live and even though you won you did not look like the old Roger we all know and love. Can't even venture a guess as to what is wrong. But you are losing to people you have never lost to before and it is h

Lieber Roger,

It appeared to me that you had the match "in the bag" as usual against Andy and then just didn't "pull the trigger." Perhaps you got disgusted with Andy's yelling at Fergis Murphy, the umpire, or the crowd clapping when you missed your f

I will never forget the final in Miami vs. Nadal when you were down something like 2 sets and a break and you smashed your racket on the ground and came back to win! Where is that Roger? Where is the intensity? Where is the desire to kick your opponen

Dearest Roger, I just came home from watching your match against Andy live. I'm sure you are disappointed with the result, but you showed many signs of brilliance. You had the crowd off their seats.
I'm sure Andy couldn't beat you if you were 100% - you'

"It's a tough way to finish the match, no doubt," said Federer, the winner of consecutive Miami titles in 2005-06. "I've been on a good run on my serve this week. To end it this way it's sort of disappointing, but what are you going to do? It's over now.

Absolutely agree with AmitojB. You need to make some changes and FAST! Mirka should be your girlfriend and nothing else..not your coach, business manager, whatever. Things are not right with you somewhere...never mind the illness. You do not look happ
