First final of the season

19.04.2008 | Tennis

Roger has reached his first final in 2008 after defeating Denis Gremelmayr 2-6, 7-5, 6-1.

Both players had to deal with huge wind gusts, which often forced them to turn their eyes away as loose clay swirled around the Estadio Nacionel.

Federer will play the winner of the match between Nikolay Davydenko and Florent Serra.

I wish recovery to Davydenko! He's a nice person with a quiet heart and humble mind like Roger has!
I haven't understand what did he say, just has injury because of cold or he sprained his somethig. Or something like that.

Congratulations on your first title for 2008!!! Unfortunately we didn't get any TV coverage of your match against Davydenko and was a bit puzzled when the online scoreboard showed you had won by retirement.
May this be the start of your successful quest

You played nice! Lots of nice shots were there and thrill too! And it was a great set and Davydenko played well too. But he feels how his body is it's his decision!

Congrats Champ!

Hey, fans!

Does anyone know what happened to Davydenko? It looked like he was fine ... how weird. But still, Roger battled back from set points against him and raised his level when necessary. He's looking better.

So happy for you, Roger!
