Roger battles into semis

Roger rallied from a set down to defeat David Nalbandian 5-7, 6-2, 6-2 Friday and advanced to the semifinals of the Monte Carlo Masters.

 

"This was my best match of the tournament. I was happy with my movement and the level of play was excellent," said Roger. "I could have served a little better but the statistics were good. David's a great player and a wonderful ball-striker. He has great movement and anticipation."

 

Nalbandian had won half of his previous 16 meetings with Roger, including the last two, and edged the first set without facing a break point. But Roger hit back in magnificent style, reeling off four games in a row to clinch the second set before sweeping to victory.

 

Roger will face Novak Djokovic in the last four.

About the reason why he retired, the Djoke said after the second set, when he had the trainer at his bench, that he had problems breathing because of the dirt in the air. This is not serious. He has been breathing this same air with the same dirt all we

roger despues que le dio la mano a novak estaba enojado, porque el queria aplastarlo venia jugando mejor federer...

TonyN Thank you for your lenghty and detailed post. Very interesting details... Tomorrow, even if we love Roger, the match is going to be interesting because we all respect Nadal. He is not a Djoke (nickname fits the guy perfectly).
