Roger vs. Rafa for the third straight time

26.04.2008 | Tennis

Roger has reached the Monte Carlo Masters final after Novak Djokovic retired due to illness. Our number one was leading 6-3 3-2 when the Serbian third seed complained of dizziness and pulled out of the semi-final.

Roger  was back to his brilliant best in the first set against Djokovic. He saved three break points in the fifth game before stealing Djokovic's serve on his first attempt to open up a decisive 5-3 advantage.

"I think I served a bit better today," said Roger. "I served well when I had to and I was consistent from the baseline. "Tomorrow, I will try to push him (Nadal) to see what happens."

I'm sorry to learn from the match comments that Federer still hasn't found a way to get rid of his mental block with Nadal. I was hoping Hamburg last year was the turning point, but it seems he has slumped back to his old ways...very sad.
Unless Nadal ge

Come on guys, give him a break.......... It's not likr Federer is going to read your comments. Atleast he got in to the finals. So no points will be lost. He had a good chance. It's quite dissapointing to see him loosing from 4-0. But what to do? He will

Very dear Roger,

This was a close match today 5-7, 5-7. Against Rafa on clay, it is not bad at all. You obviously had a proper strategy and it worked very well. But, as Robbie Koenig said, it seems that you were able to implement it only by patches.

Dearest Roger, you broke our hearts today. Although there are a lot of positives to take away from this tournament, when it comes right down to it, you should have won. Rafa is NOT better than you (it showed today, and he knows it); he WAS NOT better than
