A comfortable victory
Roger continued his progress at the Hamburg Masters with ease, securing a 6-3, 6-2 victory over unseeded Swede Robin Söderling today.
"I controlled things from the baseline and I served well when I had to," Roger said after the match. "He has a big game, a big serve, but I retrieved it well and scrambled well. That was important."
The match was already over after just 64 minutes. One break was enough for Roger to take home the first set, Söderling not seeing any opportunities to break our star. He did manage to do so in the second set but was eventually not able to make the break - with Roger winning two games on his opponent's serve.
Roger will meet Spain's Fernando Verdasco, a clay specialist, in the quarter finals. But that suits our champion perfectly well on his way to Paris. Opportunities to play matches on clay on a very high level are the best preparation. "I have trained with Verdasco. He's got the game to beat the best guys. I have to watch out."

In case you don't know the new segment is out on Roger's website. Sometimes, it is out there real quickly!

That Djerk is just fragile!
Tilou, yeh i agree with u, it would be bad if djerk became no.2, because i can just imagine roger having to face rafa, and then djerk in any grandslam or other
good match....continue playing like this. You need to improve your backhand a bit to demolish Nadal...get going...love you
