Roger sweeps into semis

Roger cruised into the semifinals of the Hamburg Masters by beating Fernando Verdasco of Spain 6-3, 6-3 today.

"I think I played well today," Roger said. "Fernando is one of those players you have to be always very careful of. He was a little bit more predictable today but made less unforced errors. That was his choice of tactics - I'm not sure if it was the right one."

Keeping up his good form on clay, and still to drop a set, Roger clearly showed the better performance against Verdasco. Their first encounter had been three years ago in Hamburg, where the Spaniard had his right foot taped after taking a 3-2 lead in the second set and didn't win another game.

Roger will face Nicolas Kiefer or Andres Seppi in the semi-finals.

Do you think that Djoko got a call from the PM or President of Serbia in between games just to make sure that he does not "retire" this time?

Willson, u r truly missing out. This game looks like a final instead of the semis. The time it took Nadal to win the first set was when Roger finished and left the match. It's a big battle which RAFA must win to stay alive and maintain his no 2 position.

Why is Djerko beating his chest simply because he won a break point? He is really a jerk who does he think he is intimidating? That is the face somebody was talking about when he is winning, Disgusting. Go RAFA.

You guys are cracking me up. I have to run a couple of errands but there's just too much entertainment for me to leave the house at this point. I'm not seeing the match and watching the live scoring is like watching paint dry, but you guys have me rolll
