58 victories and the final!
14.06.2008 | Tennis
Roger has reached the final of the Gerry Weber Open today with a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Germany's Nicolas Kiefer.
"Nobody had Wimbledon after the Gerry Weber Open before me," Roger said. "I hope I can do it again this year."
Kiefer, who has fallen to No. 38 after a wrist injury, was the last player to beat Roger in Halle; in the 2002 semifinals. The next year at Halle, Roger launched his grass streak, which includes five Wimbledon titles - which currently stands at 58 victories in series.
In Sunday's final, our star faces the winner between second seed James Blake and Germany's Philipp Kohlschreiber.
