Roger earned an Olympic rematch Wednesday against Tomas Berdych of the Czech Republic, who knocked him out in the second round in Athens four years ago. Roger breezed to a 6-2, 6-4 win over Rafael Arevalo of El Salvador, ranked 447th in the world and only playing in the Games because of his country's small number of competitors.
"To be playing a player with a very low ranking in a very big pressure situation for me, I have nothing to win, only everything to lose," said Roger. "It was all a matter of getting through: hopefully not getting a fright or anything, which I didn't."
This time Roger and Berdych will meet in the third round. "He has got a great game," Roger said. "Obviously I'm aware of the danger."
