Roger to play Davis Cup
16.08.2008 | Tennis
Roger explained in Beijing today that he will not only be helping Switzerland in the World Group Play-offs of the Davis Cup against Belgium (September 19 - 21 in Lausanne, Switzerland) but also in the first round of 2009.
He has not quite made all his plans for the coming season but says that "In general next year will certainly be easier. I will certainly join the team for the first round."
In order to focus fully on his singles career Roger has had to skip the first round of the season since 2005. Up until 2007 the Swiss then went on to lose and had to play the relegation, where Roger then helped out.

I am a little slow. Can somebody explain to me what exactly Davis Cup is, and if it is good for coffee?
Thanks
I don't know where I have heard that Roger may play in the Davis Cup. Maybe someone will tell us if this is true or not.

No thanks necessary.
Actually the Swiss restaurant was in Québec city and they both loved the place very very much. Hope you win your trip to see Chico live. I wish I could enter a contest to see Rogi live. Grrrrrr!!!!
I don't have the foggiest--is Roger playing in Davis cup? hmmmm. I wish we had some sign... some news bulletin or headline to clear things up for us.
I just realized that you said Québec, not Québec city. So, maybe your friends were in Montréal? I hope they were in Québec city. It is so much prettier than Montréal!
Next time you should come to Québec city too! There is a lot happening there this year because they celebrate the 400th anniversary of the foundation of the city. I now live close to Montréal but I was born and lived for 14 years
The US Open ads are starting to come at us fast and furious here in the States and you might have guessed that Roger (the four-time DEFENDING champ) has almost been relegated to an historical footnote. The marquis players are Nada, Venus, Djok
