US Open draw

The US Open held its annual draw ceremony in midtown Manhattan on Thursday. Roger, now 2nd in the world ranking and 4-time holder of the title, will meet Argentina's Maximo Gonzalez (ATP 114) in the first round.

 

Roger's opponent in round two would be a qualifier and round three could be a match against Radek Stepanek (CZE/ATP 29). Roger shares his half with No. 3 Novak Djokovic, No. 5 Nikolay Davydenko and No. 8 Andy Roddick. In 2007, Roger won against Djokovic in three sets in the final: 7-6(4), 7-6(2), 6-4.
