Through in straight sets

Roger'sbid to win the Madrid Masters remains on course as he downed 16th seed Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in straight sets to clinch a quarter-final spot.

 

It was the the first time Roger and Tsonga faced each other. "It's hard to face a player you've never met before, that's why I worked a little bit harder at the beginning," our champ said. "It was like playing a box fight, he always hit first."

 

Roger proved too good for his younger opponent, beating the Australian Open finalist 6-4 6-1 in just over an hour. Now, he will clash against Juan Martin del Potro; they met twice, and our 13-time Grand Slam champion won both without dropping a set.

I was able to watch the match today on channelsurfing.com and I was thrilled at the way Roger took care of Del Potro! Good going Champ!! You are now in the semis and close to winning the whole thing!!!We are all with you one hundred percent!!
