Roger out in Madrid

Roger lost to Andy Murray in semifinal in Madrid today. The Scot took revenge for his defeat in the US Open final in September: 3-6, 6-3, 7-5.

 

“I think he's improved at his pace,” Roger said. “First he had to grow up a little bit, become a man; I think he's taken that step well and he seems much more relaxed on the court which I think helps him. He's still fiery, which he's supposed to be. I just think you've got to give the young guys time to learn. It's so much more fun to see them learning.”

 

Roger sealed the first set after a break in the fourth game. It was the first set that Murray had to drop in the tournament so far. Murray responded and clearly took the second set 6-3. In the decider the Scot sent down 10 aces and despite Roger saving six break points, his opponent broke in game 11 and served it out to 7-5.

 

Roger is now off to Basel where he has announced that he will be competing next week.

It's ok Roger, I'm a little bit sad, but you did a great job.You beat a really good players this week. Murray served great and played too. You played great too, but yopu made a little bit more errors that you shouldn't. But you know that and I'm sure you

usually when ur backhand is down u rely on ur forefand to take u out of trouble but today neither worked well for u and ur serve didnt work as well, but on the otherhand murray had every thing going and still managed to in the nickest of margins this prov

By the way it was a very great and exciting match.You both played very well!!!!I realy enjoyed it!!!!!! And you where looking nice!!....at out there.:):):)

oh... why...!!
i saw the first set, and then had some inmportant work so went off thinking that ull be playing simons in the finals...
damn..!! its not right, you have to win... we just cant see u lose ne more.!!

Very interesting words..you said..It shows caracter saying things like this, after you just lost to him. It also shows that you have grown too, beautifull...:):)I think this is more precious then any win...dont you...

It was a good tournament, I think you played really well al along. It's a pity you lost today, but losing against No.4 is no shame. And it was very close anyway.
