Hattrick in Basel?
Roger will play the final 'at home' tomorrow after an impressive 6-3, 6-2 victory against Spain's Felicano Lopez in 61 minutes.
He is aiming to complete a hat-trick after winning the last two editions at the event where he got his start in the game as a ballboy. "I had a bit of difficulty at the start," acknowledged Roger. "But then I found my rhythm and my serve was working even better than normal so I'm really happy about that."
Our champ will be facing off David Nalbandian on Sunday - a rival who has given him a fair amount of trouble during his career, with Roger holding a 9-8 advantage in their series stretching to 2002. "It's true he has a good record against me and he's also one of the few players to have been to at least the semi-finals of every Grand Slam event. It should be a lot of fun on Sunday."
Roger faced two break points in his second service game against Feliciano Lopez today but defended them with ease. He then went on in perfect manner, hitting a total of 15 aces and breaking Lopez three times to complete his seventh win in seven matches against the Spaniard.
