Roger loses first match

Andy Murray has beaten Roger 4-6, 6-2, 7-6(6) to reach the final of the World Tennis Championship in Abu Dhabi. Roger won the first set but Murray bounced back to complete the victory and set up a final against Nikolay Davydenko or Rafael Nadal.

"It's been a great start but unfortunately I couldn't come through in the end," said Roger. "But Andy's had a fantastic end to the year and he looks in great shape again."

Roger was happy to get a hard match at the start of his season and, despite last year not being his best, he would take the same again for 2009. "Hopefully I can just have another terrible year with only just the one grand slam and that will be just fine."

I am so sorry to learn that many of Rogers fans did not understand or misinterpretered "Hopefully I can have another terrible year with only one grand slam and that will be just fine."
There would many reasons for you not understanding related to differe

wish u the very best for 2009 season...would love to see u beat Sampras's record at the French Open (# 15). wonder if a coach like Brad Gilbert would be helpful at this stage.

Hey Rog,
sorry I didn't see the match. no one in the states showed it! Urgghh.. I'm sure you did great, though. Just promise us you don't form a Murray complex. Keep training. Hopefully I can see your matches soon! Lots of love and luck!

Dear Roger,
It was a pretty closed match and the shot that probably turn out to be the problem in your game was your unforced forehand, anyway i hope that u can make another 1-2 Grand Slam this year.

For goodness sake everyone please lighten up!!!! Roger was JOKING with his comment about "one grand slam will be fine". I repeat he was JOKING. Our lovely hero has a great sense of humour, read his books!!!!

umm..hello?? no that's not just fine! if that's gonna be ur attitude then chances are that u won't even get the one grand slam...good god rogie what's got into u? what happened to the roger federer we all admired? he never settled for less than the best..

Go somewhee wlse with your dire words. Roger is going to be just fine but he surely doesn't want all the downers you come up with. If you can't honor the man then stay off his site.
