Another defeat by Murray

Roger lost his semifinal against Andy Murray 3-6, 6-4, 1-6 in Indian Wells on Saturday.

 

Both players agreed that it was one of their toughest matches so far. For a few minutes shy of two hours, Roger had been outplayed. He had to face a strong performance by the Scotsman but also a large number of errors on his own side: 32 unforced errors in total, 17 in the first set alone. In the middle of the third set, after Murray took a spill at the baseline, Roger seemed to make a charge. Unfortunately he then lost three straight points off of his backhand giving Murray a 4-1 lead and again committing an unusual amount of errors.

 

"I played a shocking third set," Roger said. "It was one of those matches where it was very up and down from both ends and today the better player won."

 

Roger will be back on court very soon, with the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami starting on Monday.

Roger.I honestly feel that u have developed a mental block against the likes of Nadal & Murray.U did play very badly in the final sets of both the AO final & the Indian Wells semis,after playing very well in the previous set.ur serve is not what it was an

I feel for Roger - the incredible amount of pressure from the public, from the media, from himself to win every match. No one is invincible forever. I'd love to see him win another tournament, or many, but if he loses in Miami, that's OK too. In terms of

Dear Roger - I love to watch you play. I am disappointed when you lose, but I still support you, and win or lose, tennis is NOT the same when you are not playing! So boring that final IW match with Nadal and Murray too....you can beat them. Best of luck

it was hard to see you lose to murray again but its not really about your game because it is so complete and he only manages to beat you by waiting for you to make errors and not by playing better tennis, i just hope you read all these comments people hav
