A fantastic comeback

01.06.2009 | Tennis

Roger once again fought back in impressive manner today, coming back from two sets down against Tommy Haas, finally winning the match 6-7(4), 5-7, 6-4, 6-0 and 6-2.

Roger was two sets and 3-4 down facing a break point when he recovered to hold serve and went on to win eight games in a row! He raced to level things up with a 6-0 demolition job in the fourth set and then broke twice in the final set. And with the chance to close out the contest, serving at 5-2 up with a double break, it took Roger just two match points to seal his place in the last-eight as a Haas return went wide at 40-30.

The victory was greeted by massive cheers on Philippe Chatrier Court as Roger is the hot favourite to win the title after Rafael Nadal was beaten yesterday. He will face either France's Gaël Monfils or American Andy Roddick on Wednesday.

I am watching the match on my computer. Does Monfils look like his knee is hurting?

Expect Monfils to fight back, a lot. He is going to put everything into this next set, he wants this win very bad. But as Federer told him last year, "If he wants to win, he'll have to get past me."

Roger survives and wins the 1st set. Gosh! He needed it badly for his confidence, now he better start playing better tennis now that Monfils confidence is deflated. Go Roger go, pls no more heart attack.

THANK YOU, GOD. I'm praying so hard.

COME ON, ROGERRRR!!!!

Let's kick this up a notch!! Man, we're tired of this tension. You may be used to it, but I haven't been in competitive sport for over 25 years, and my BP and heart rate are off the charts!
