Roger cruises into round three

Roger produced a sublime display to beat Guillermo Garcia-Lopez in the second round at Wimbledon today. It took him just 89 minutes to secure the 6-2, 6-2, 6-4 victory.

 

"The opponents are only going to get tougher. I'm playing great at the moment, and I hope it is going to last," he said. Roger server brilliantly, losing only three points on his first serve and breaking his opponent regularly. He was in superb touch as he broke twice to take the first set 6-2 and, after saving two break points early in the second, a stunning winner saw him break as he won the set 6-2. He then eased through the third set 6-4.

 

After a break on Thursday, Roger will face Philipp Kohlschreiber in round three on Friday. He has won all three encounters with the German so far.

Well, I couldn't see much of the match, only the begginning of the 1st set, and the end of the 3rd,but I didn't like very much what I saw:( Too much breakpoints wasted! Against Soderling it will be tougher, but I hope it ends with him saying no one beats

Good for Tsonga - he pulled off the set. Two tie-breakers for the first two sets! So so close. Lots of aces from both players too. I would like to see one of them play Murray - why does Murray have such an easy draw?

Congratulations!!! You were just perfect! As usual, of course. Only the third set...But it doesn't matter at all. As you said it's important to win no matter in how many sets!!! But you gt tired if you play too long. The German was good. And n

Trinimum127**** I really got a chuckle out of the "Wolfman" retort. I had been trying to think of a few names to hang on Murray. His personality is just nil. I don't know what it is about him that irritates me so much but I guess he is just not my cup of

BRAVO, ROGIE!!!!

Just what the doctor ordered for the 4th set, although you had me worried at the end with such poor shot choices. Need to do some work when your opponent outnumbers you in winners. You don't seem to play well when you're irritated.
