Roger makes history!

In a dramatic encounter that lasted over four hours Roger made history today! He defeated Andy Roddick to land a record-breaking 15th Grand Slam title in a thrilling final in Wimbledon, winning 5-7 7-6 (8-6) 7-6 (7-5) 3-6 and 16-14.

His words after the amazing success were: "It's not one of those goals you set as a young boy. It feels amazing. I don't play tennis to break records, but this is a great one to have." Roger is the first tennis professional ever to have reached the mark of 15 Grand-Slam titles as he broke Pete Sampras' record. Pete followed the epic match in the

stadium today.

It was a hard piece of work for Roger as Andy Roddick pressured him with his strong serve. The two stretched the match all the way and played the longest set in tennis history! Roger was the happy winner today, with Andy surrendering a good loser.

And now Roger regains the world number 1 spot after his glorious victory - way to go!

to be the best player ever, you must win grand slam titles more than any player ..

If Federer had been defeated before meeting Nadal in Wimbledon 2008 and AO 2009, the head to head would have been better 11 / 7 and you would not say

I donot disagree with your comments about ifs and buts but I disagree on your assertion that to be the best you have to be always at the peak. That is especially true for Federer in 2008. Why cannot you take into account the fact that Fed

I read all the comments and i appreciate them!I aggre that Roger is better player than Nadal and i think that he is the best player in tennis history!In 2009 he lost in final in the Australian open from Nadal,in Hamburg he won Nadal in final,in Roland gar

Me too ! I do not believe in ifs and buts...I totally agree with you...

I definitely agree with the point - that, Nadal's spin ball are his quality, no doubt at all.

To be the best player ever you have to perform well in 2008 as well. The losses in that year also count. I keep with my statement on p. 157
