Roger opens season in Abu Dhabi

Roger opened his 2010 season in Abu Dhabi today. He was beaten in three sets by Swede Robin Söderling (ATP 8) at the high-profile exhibition tournament: 7-6(6), 6-7(1), 2-6.

 

Roger commented: "Obviously it's hard to start playing against him but I had fun." He will be playing his first ATP tournament next week in Doha.

 

This week, Roger also announced that he will skip Switzerland’s Davis Cup first round in Spain in March.

We have just watched your first, and Soderlings's second, match for 2010-- both players a little rusty at times, which is to be expected at this time of the year.
However, your magic with that wrist of yours and racquet is far from rusty

never mind Roger. Last season too, you lost the opener but we all know what happened later on - WHEN IT MATTERED!

Good start, Roger, some fantastic shotmaking, and attacks, and I did feel that you were trying different things out. You looked good to me, and you got into the season. It's an exho, and that is how you took it, although no question you prefer to win.

Never mind~~ Roger is simply the best and he need no more win against anyone to prove himself. Just an exhibition tournament and we will see him warm up and do great in Doha and then the AO! Come on the King! We are always with you!
