Roger ties with Connors

Roger's 16th grand slam title has secured him some space at the top of the ATP world ranking. Quite a few changes have occurred directly behind him, though: Novak Djokovic (2) and Andy Murray (3) have moved up, Rafael Nadal has fallen to fourth place.

 

Roger reached 268 weeks as number one of the ATP ranking today and has thus leveled Jimmy Connors' best mark. Ahead of him lie only two further players: Ivan Lendl (270) and Pete Sampras (286). And our champ certainly is on track to breaking these rekords, too!

 

1. Pete Sampras (USA) : 286

2. Ivan Lendl (CZE/USA) : 270

3. Jimmy Connors (USA) and Roger Federer (SUI) : 268

5. John McEnroe (USA) : 170

6. Björn Borg (SWE) : 109

7. Andre Agassi (USA) : 101

8. Lleyton Hewitt (AUS) : 80

9. Stefan Edberg (SWE) : 72

10. Jim Courier (USA) : 58

Men records will be Roger's, no doubt about it. Now we can think of Graf's, record 377 weeks at #1.... Just another two years for Roger ;)

To the fans: check the date above caption..01.02.2010....he will reach 270 wks on 15 Feb and 286wks by 07 June....I'm sure he will break that record too!!!
