ATP - TOKYO AND SHANGHAI

Dear Fans

I am disappointed that I have to withdraw from Tokyo and Shanghai as they are two of my favorite cities in the world and the fans have been great to me over the years. After consultation with my team and doctors, I decided to take the difficult decision to withdraw from both tournaments so that I can give my body a chance to rest, rehabilitate and fully recover from a physically challenging year.

Roger: You'll be my fovorite tennis Champion whatever you do. Perhaps the decision to withdraw from those tournaments is a very smart one anyway so that you can prepare for the end of the season.

Dear Roger,

Health is the most important thing is rest, and if you feel you need it to do. Of course, the girls should be pampered a little, a very good amenities.

Even in the USO final, you did look tired. Although you never said so specifically, I think that cost you the lost to DelPotro.

I had a feeling this would happen. Rest well Roger - it will be a long five weeks or so until we see you play again but perfectly understand that you need the rest and time with your family now. You had an amazing year so far already

Dear Roger,

What a wise decision to give ur body time to rest. But mentally u must be tired to.

It was all so overwhelming the last couple of months winnig RG. and Wimbledon in a row then Cincy and again final USO

And ur personal life was even better.
Get married and become parents of twin daugthers.

U deserve a holiday and enjoy being father These times are so wonderfull for u and Mirka.

Just being together without any pressure.

I love to see u playing but ur health is most important. Really looking forward to see u in Basel and the tournements in November.

I'm very sad. In 2007, I had tickets for Japan Open, and you skiped the tournament. This year I have some tickets, too. Twice sadness..

On other side, I'm happy with you. Am I confused? Yes I am..

But I knew you need a rest and always take right decision. You just did what have to do but it's not easy.

I believe you will come to Japan again some day. I am looking forward to it.

I'm not suprised one bit.

I've hoped that you make this good decision. Although I was a little bit upset when I read about your decision and your pains. I believe that some weeks rest and enjoying yourself with your twins, family and friends will do the job to make you well-prepared fit and hungry again for Basel.

It suits you that you said nothing about your pain after the US-open final which you almost won and that you played with pain to keep Switserland in the world group of the Davis Cup.

Please feel no pressure for anything just take as much time as you need to recover and enjoy yourself.
