ATP - TOKYO AND SHANGHAI

Dear Fans

I am disappointed that I have to withdraw from Tokyo and Shanghai as they are two of my favorite cities in the world and the fans have been great to me over the years.  After consultation with my team and doctors, I decided to take the difficult decision to withdraw from both tournaments so that I can give my body a chance to rest, rehabilitate and fully recover from a physically challenging year.

We (Japanese fans) were looking forward to seeing you, but definitely understand your decision.

Bad news, but you know well what is better to you, take a rest and good luck in the next tournaments ..
Just one thing I want to warn you about it and I know well that you understand this point more than me, your first ranking will face a hard time, if Nadal can achieve a good result at Beijing ( ATP 500 ) and Shanghai ( ATP 1000 ), then you will have to do your best efforts at (1) Basel - ATP 500 - in order not to lose any other point because you are the champion defending (2) Paris –ATP 1000 – and both of you and Nadal will lose 250 point (3) London which will take 200 point from your ranking while Nadal will not lose any point because he did not play that tournament in the last year ..
I never want to put you under pressure but on the other side I do not want your first ranking which came after more epics to go easily to Nadal ..
Federer ,, On November you have 3 consecutive tournaments from 2/11 to 22/11 so, what do you see about that ? do you intend to play the three tournaments ? or to withdraw from one or two ??
I am your huge fan forever ,, No.1 or No.100 , loser or winner , you are my hero , but I can not deny that I am so sad because of your decision .

roger, you badly need a rest as you said. you said your arm and leg were in pain and you hurt all over. even if you had no pain you need to stop and take in all you have achieved. career grand slam, tying 14, getting 15 - all time grand slam record. all 4 grand slam finals again, regained wimby crown, and became #1 again. the most important things of course getting married and becoming dad to those 2 angels. you have lived 3 or 4 life dreams in about 4 months. you need to stop and enjoy it or at least realize all you just did. mirka needs a rest too. what a trooper she has been through all the record setting, having the twins, and coming with you through the 5 week north american swing and davis cup. i know you know what a treasure you have. you always speak of her in such lovely terms. so enjoy all your girls, enjoy all your records, and get plenty of rest. if playing less sometimes, means you play longer i vote for that. the best thing i saw was the celebration song with your davis cup buddies on youtube. you looked so happy. i like that as my last image of you before you go for a rest. we love you forever. glad you're resting and healing. enjoy all your girls. we will see you when we see you. you have nothing to prove anymore. love always from columbus, georgia.

Oh Roger, I'm so sorry to learn that you have to withdraw from both of the tournaments. I hope your health is alright. Actually, I've got tickets for Tokyo as well as Shanghai. The airplane tickets and hotels were already booked, too. So, you can see how disappointed I am at this moment. But, never mind, I have tickets for the Australian Open, too. I think I will definately see you playing there, won't I ? I have tickets for the Rod Laver Arena for two whole weeks. Hope to see you winning the AO title for the 4th times. Please, rest well, Roger. See you in January.
