ATP - INJURED ROGER WILL MISS MADRID AND BASEL

Roger injured a ligament in his right foot during training
and will miss at least two weeks of tournaments.
He was hurt in training while he tried to hit a forehand drive shot. The mishap will keep Roger out of action for up to three weeks.

Roger will miss next week's Madrid Masters. He will also miss his home event, the Swiss Indoors in Basel.

"After bad luck last year with my thigh and now this. I'm extremely disappointed, above all that I can't play at home for the second straight year in Basel. But I'm hoping to go to Shanghai again perfectly fit," said Roger.

Medical opinion is optimistic that Roger will be fit for the season-ending Masters Cup in Shanghai from November 13-20.

Dear Roger: I'm hurt because you're hurt, but take all the time necessary to get that ankle back to normal. Being thatI won't get to see you on TV in the next few weeks, I'll have to go shopping.

Take CARE and BE WELL.

Greetings, Lion King!
What rotten luck at such a time. Make sure Mirka doesn't trip over your crutches, we can't have you both injured! Hope you recover in time for Shanghai and win again.

Cher Roger, je suis vraiment désolée...

I'm sorry to hear the news, sorry about your bad luck being injured again. I'll really miss seeing you on my TV screen next week... Anyway, Roger, try to take the "positives" from this situation if possible - get some rest, take time to heal the injury thoroughly, and come back twice as fit and strong to triumph in Shanghai, hopefully!

Wishing you a very speedy recovery.
Remets-toi vite!

Dear Roger,
I was really sad to hear the news, and I can only imagine your frustration and disappointment at how dramatically things suddenly changed, one moment you're more than ready for the upcoming tournaments (and especially your hometown's) and the next it's all up in the air, and for the second year! But I guess such things are also -unfortunately- part of the sport...
I wish you, from the bottom of my heart, a speedy and full recovery and hope you'll be able to defend your Masterss Cup title. But your health is the most important thing so please, take good care of yourself and get all the rest you need.
My best wishes
Christina

=( Sad, sad news. It's so unfortunate that you miss your home tournament again. The whole walking with crutches thing sounds serious, but I hope this injury won't come back and haunt you later. You might as well try to enjoy the time off, but please rest up well and be careful. I'm praying for your safe and speedy recovery and you taking the opposition by storm when you come back!

13.10.2005

Oh bro!!...What a terrible news?!Why?...How?...I'm so sorry!...All my wishes for full recovery...I'll be waiting for news soon...

13.10.2005
I'm very saddened to hear this, but understand that there will be other fans out there who were looking forward to your tournaments who are probably hurt more. Most of all, you are disappointed at letting down your fans and home town.

The most important thing for you to do is get well soon, and hope your leg will be well enough for the Masters Cup. Your long-term well-being is more important to us than a couple of tournaments. Good Luck and all the Best!
