ATP - A CLEAR VICTORY AND NOW ROUND THREE
Roger simply outclassed a shell-shocked Henman, cruising to a 6-4 6-0 6-2 victory in just one hour 24 minutes on Centre Court in Wimbledon today.
The British number three won just five points in the second set as he bowed out in the second round for the second year in succession.
It was Roger's 43rd successive win on grass and surely nothing will stop him from claiming a fourth straight title next week, joining Bjorn Borg and Pete Sampras as the only players to do so in the open era.
Henman had been looking forward to playing a match at the All England Club without the usual massive burden of expectation, and was rated a 10-1 shot for victory despite a 6-4 winning record against Roger. That included a quarter-final victory here in 2001, but since then Roger has won three straight titles in SW19 and his first-round win over Richard Gasquet surpassed Borg`s record of 41 straight wins on grass.
