OFF COURT - ROGER'S STAMP UNVEILED!

Swiss Post has presented the special Roger Federer stamp to the public. Chief Executive Officer Ulrich Gygi presented the tennis player from the Basel region with his special present at Basel town hall. This is the first time ever that a living person has been depicted on a Swiss stamp. The stamp, with a face value of one franc, is available now.

Swiss Post has lifted the secret surrounding the Roger Federer special stamp. Chief Executive Officer Ulrich Gygi unveiled the picture at Basel town hall and presented Roger Federer with a large-format stamp. The 1-franc stamp shows the world's number one tennis player holding up the winner's trophy at Wimbledon.

Swiss Post's special stamp is a unique gift to Roger. It is the first time that it has issued a stamp featuring a living person. Roger Federer has been the number one in the tennis world for over three years – longer than any other player. With his sporting successes and his activities off the court – as UNICEF ambassador, for example – he has done a great deal to promote the image of Switzerland abroad in recent years. This is why Swiss Post is dedicating a stamp to this exceptional sportsman.

Swiss Post announced on 26 February 2007 that it would be issuing a Roger Federer stamp. However, the actual picture to be featured remained a secret until it was presented to the tennis player. The stamp is now available at all Swiss post offices and philatelic salespoints and via the link below.

Kindly note that no stamps sent to Roger will be signed; they will be returned in the state they arrived.

Congratulations Roger and how apt that the photo on the Swiss stamp is of you holding up the trophy of your favourite Grand Slam i.e. Wimbledon. This is absolutely fantastic.
I haven't posted in a little while namely because I was holidaying in the Kansai region of Japan. It's such a lovely country and I do love the people, who are so polite, and, though I haven't travelled far and wide, to me they would be the most customer focused people in most of the service industries across the board in the world. Congratulations Japan I sure appreciated your people and country. Truely was fortunate to see the Geisha Spring Festival Dance at Kyoto Gion and just loved the beauty of the Cherry Blossoms in full colour.
Roger I was disappointed for you at first losing to Canaas for a second time, but I was more perturbed at my sister who's supposed to be a fan who was abit critical. That just made me encourage her to try to see reason, and that it is just a game and that it is healthy for you to lose occasionally. I don't know where you're at at the minute, but according to your calendar the Masters Series, Monte Carlo starts around the 15 April. I suspect that Tony Roche is with you or will join you at some stage. It makes me feel good when he is with you, I guess it's that sense of security and assurance. Good luck Roger, I know you will try your best and basically this will be a good start for you to gain confidence and implement strategies. I was also disappointed for Tiger at Augusta today, but thought that his loss would inspire you to focus on the French Open Grand Slam. Wow current still at 12-10. Go, Go Roger. Kia Kaha (Stay Strong), you will prevail!!
In Health and Happiness,
Alice.

Congratulations Roger!
If they were going to make an exeption on who can be featured on a stamp, it just had to be for you! You fully deserve this and every other honor you're getting.
Proud of you always
Christina
